The Routine
A card is freely selected and signed by your spectator. To make things fair, you add two indifferent cards and mix all three together face down on the table.
Next, you remove your Ace of Spades from the card box, explaining that this iconic card will act as a detective to find their selection.
Then, the impossible happens.
Without any cover, the center spade on the Ace visibly begins to move, sliding across the card to point directly at one of the three face-down cards. When that card is flipped over, it is revealed to be the spectator’s signed selection!
But you don’t stop there. You can immediately hand the Ace of Spades out for close examination. The spectator will discover that the card is completely ordinary now—except for the fact that the printed ink has genuinely and permanently shifted into its new position.
