The Experience

1. The Unspoken Thought: A collection of aged cabinet photographs is introduced—each representing a life remembered. The cards are freely mixed by both performer and participant. The participant privately thinks of a single word from a list of twelve, remembering both the word and its corresponding number. Nothing is written down. No questions are asked. No fishing or guessing occurs. The performer reveals the exact thought-of word with quiet precision.

2. The Seance Journal & William: The story deepens as an authentic séance journal entry dated November 1890 is opened. It describes the unexplained apparition of a boy named William who was never summoned. When the participant reveals their secret thought-of number, the performer counts down through the photographs. At that exact position sits the photograph matching the journal’s description: William.
