Performing magic is an inherent contradiction. To be fooled, the audience must firmly believe that what they saw is exactly what happened. But at the same time, they must deeply know that it cannot be possible. It is not enough to simply accept what you’ve seen. You must also think, investigate, and understand just how impossible the evidence of your eyes must be.
This deck of cards honors and emphasizes that inherent contradiction with the prominent message “Simon Says: Think for Yourself.” Everyone believes in thinking for yourself. The key is to be willing to think critically and, if necessary, change your mind. Perform with this new deck, created by Michael Feldman and designed by Edo Huang.
